ROCKET BUILDING STATION

Gather your birthday guests and get them ready for a birthday blast off! This post will teach you how to add a rocket building station to your next science themed birthday party.

Materials:

Plastic film canister and lid for each guest – you can find these online

Alka-Seltzer tablets

Water

Eye protection for each participant

A rocket building station is a fun and exciting activity to add to your next science themed birthday party.

Directions:

Set the film canisters in a bowl or basket. Do the same with the Alka-Seltzer tablets.

Have the party guests put on their eye protection and form a line. Each guest should grab a canister and an Alka-Seltzer tablet.

Have each guest file past an adult who will fill the film canister about one third of the way with water.

Each guest will then go to an outdoor area that can get messy or be easily cleaned.

Have each guest open the Alka-Seltzer package and break the tablet in half.

Next, each guest will need to drop half of the Alka-Seltzer tablet into the film canister. They will then need to quickly and securely snap on the lid, and then set the canister on the ground with the lid facing down.

Within moments, the rockets will begin popping and taking off!

Your birthday guests' imagination will launch into space with a rocket building station.

You can then refill each canister about a third of the way with water and allow the guests to use the remaining half of Alka-Seltzer tablet to launch their rockets once more.

For extra fun, you can provide tape, glue, scissors, and construction paper so the guest can add nose cones and fins to their rockets before liftoff.

The rocket building station is an especially fun activity for space themed birthday parties.
